Traveller’s Rest 1770 Eco Camping is a family-owned nature-campground located on the outskirts of Eurimbula National Park, in the beautiful beachside town of Agnes Water/1770, Queensland!
The campground is run with passion and care by Mike and Michi who’s vision it is to connect People with Nature, and Nature to People! The spacious powered and unpowered sites are surrounded by native bushland, allowing an abundance of wildlife to call Traveller’s Rest 1770 their home. Our well-maintained amenities add an extra bit of comfort to the only Ecotourism certified Nature-Campground on the Discovery Coast! Our guests start their day with calls of Kookaburra’s, nestled in tall Gumtrees and settle by their campfire at night to enjoy clear views of the night sky. Traveller’s Rest 1770 invites their guests to immerse themselves in a truly restful camping experience on their 44-acres property – far enough away from the hustle of town but close enough to enjoy a trip to Lady Musgrave Island – the Gateway to the Southern Great Barrier Reef.
Experience the bespoke bushland boardwalk meandering along a carefully chosen path or the brand-new birdhide, inviting you to tune into a natural harmony of bird calls, rustling leaves and gentle breezes. The bushland boardwalk can be accessed by wheelchairs and prams, and our spacious undercover BBQ Area offers a generous space for shade, rest and wildlife observations.
Along the pristine coastline of Queensland lays the Discovery Coast, nestled between Bundaberg and Bagara in the South through to the town of Rockhampton and Yeppoon in the North. On the way from Bundaberg, you will drive through Sugar Cane fields, cattle pastures and wide-open roads, which are so well-known for Queensland. Immerse yourself in the relaxing drive to “Traveller’s Rest 1770 Eco Camping”, conveniently located on the main road to Agnes Water. Our family-run campground is the closest access point to Eurimbula National Park, with its endless sandy beach and lookout walks. Agnes Water is only six kms away and offers everything a Traveller’s Heart could wish for.
When leaving Agnes Water to the North, you will pass little country towns and might end up in the state’s engine room – Gladstone or visit the Calliope River Historical Village. The beauty of travelling is, you never know where the road will take you!
My wife and I had a wonderful bushtracks "bushtucker" tour with Michael around the boardwalk on his land. Michael was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions as well as providing a lot of information about the fauna, plants and trees as well as showing us what we were able to eat and the benefits. We ended with some tasty tea and biscuits with various dips made from plants.

Absolutely amazing tour. We had family visiting us over Easter and we all had such a lovely time. Mike's knowledge of the land and it's history is impressive. The boardwalk makes it such an easy walk for everyone...from the little ones to us older folk!

Great location back from the main drag and very clean amenities, the owners have put a lot of effort into making this a good place to set up camping. Reasonably prices and friendly staff, as it was a quiet weeknight. We had paid for an unpowered site and were able to pick pretty much wherever we wanted to camp. Highly recommended.
